Ukyo Kuonji

She owns Ucchan's, an okonomiyaki Restarant and often wears boy's clothes and wields a very sharp massive steel spatula. Ucchan is Ukyo's cute childhood nickname given to her by Ranma, which he still uses, and Ran-chan is Ranma's nickname given to him by Ukyo.

Because Genma took her dowry and ran off with Ranma, leaving her, when they were supposed to take her, she felt very humiliated and after that the other children laughed at her. After the pain of her first love, she didn't want to experience it again.

She wears boys clothes to school, but her normal clothes aren't boys, though they're not normal girls clothes either. She wears the clothing of an Okonomiyaki Chef. Because of this when Ukyo and Ranma were training together as kids, Ranma assumed she was a boy. When he finds out that his old friend Ucchan is a girl, he splashes hot water on her to see if she will turn into a boy, thinking she had fallen into a cursed Jusenkyo spring.
